Whim 2187: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim-2187.tar.bz2
There are various whimcompmgr performance improvements in whimcompmgr and Whim, plus a bug fix for a branch with transients.

KDE apps such as knode are very slow with Whimcompmgr. Does anyone know why? Others toolkits and apps are fine...

We have a new beta release http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim-2173.tar.bz2
$ md5sum Whim-2173.tar.bz2 3d6bf66c6d680a40c73a29fdc7487d21 Whim-2173.tar.bz2
This release fixes several bugs with whimcompmgr redraw issues. It also adds a menu item for starting and stopping whimcompmgr (if you copy whimcompmgr to a directory in your path).
Oct 4, 2008 Videos!
I used recordmydesktop to make an ogg theora video of Whim in action. It's 13 MB.
I think it will give some of you a better impression of the advances Whim has made lately.
This is a Ubuntu-based desktop running Whim: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whimcompmgr_action.ogg

I fixed some redraw bugs in whimcompmgr and now we have beta 2163: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim-2163.tar.bz2
I'm going to make some movies of Whim with whimcompmgr in action. It looks different than the most recent screenshots (much better), and whimcompmgr is difficult to perceive until you see it with action.

We are inching closer to a stable release with beta 2153: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim-2153.tar.bz2
This release has a new configure.tcl to aid in building Whim. It reduces the total amount of time spent building Whim.
There were also some changes to whimcompmgr to improve performance a bit.

We have a new Whim beta 2134: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim-2134.tar.bz2
md5sum Whim-2134.tar.bz2 de783f35e79999c02d9b6fe3dd66d1f4 Whim-2134.tar.bz2
This beta eliminates the need to use set.config root_width and set.config root_height in a ~/.whim_config.
