Whim alpha 2100 is now available.

New features include:

objstructure classes for WhimDesktop and WhimWindow
a Desktop Settings Wizard applet
per desktop settings are now saved and restored
whimcompmgr support
sources include the new (optional) whimcompmgr
sources include the new Whimterm
bug fixes and improves

Bugs left to fix before this moves to beta or possibly final are:

a strange sort of deadlock on Restart that occurs when an applet is left running (bug 6).
a bug in whimcompmgr that Whim's taskbar brings out (bug 7).

Whimcompmgr provides compositing features compatible with the Whim_unstable.vfs branch of megapkg.

March 4, 2008 There is now a Whim2 that is an experimental release that uses a custom Xvfb-based X server for fast alpha transparency, and unique abilities that you simply won't find with similar window managers. A tarball of binaries built in Ubuntu 7.0.4 (compatible with libc-2.5.so) is available here: http://whim.linuxsys.net/files/Whim2-1147.tar.bz2
